Indiana Jones and Book of Mormon Archaeology

I need a change of pace, so I thought I’d do a little pop culture for a post.

My wife and I went to see the new Indy movie the Friday morning after it came out.  I’m a big Indy fan.  I liked the movie, but it wasn’t as good as #1 or #3, but better than #2.

Anyway, I don’t want any plot spoilers, and I don’t think this is, so if you haven’t seen the movie, you may want to stop reading here, but if you don’t care, read on.

So, I thought it was interesting when they went into the cave, and saw the 13 “Indians/Aliens” in a circle.  Of course the movie tries to make this seem like they were aliens, but it seems that I’ve heard arguments that similar representations might represent apostles with Christ in the Americas.  While I know the movie is completely fictional, what I find fascinating is that often archaeologists interpret different symbols to confirm their hypothesis.

So, what do you think?  Could the Quetzoquotal images really represent aliens instead of Christ?  Or do they represent something else?

Something else.
You’ve set up a meaningless either/ or here.
Your wording suggests that the idea of Quetzoquotal being representative of ‘Christ’ is somehow the best, most accepted option.
This is not the case among mainstream academics. Not by a long shot.

I agree. I’m sorry if you felt my wording implied otherwise.

What if they are the same? What if Jesus is an alien?

What if we are all aliens? Tapped in human form?

In order to seperate the aliens from the humans you must drink the cool aid.

Seriously: Epigraphers interpret glyphs, scholars develop the hypothesis. Then the archaeologists go prove it.

Alex, a polite person would thank you for stopping by. Next time can you actually think of a cogent response and put all your comments together in one post? You’re not very funny, but I’m sure you think you are. Really, how long did you actually think about any of these responses? My guess is 5 seconds tops.
